Consumerism addiction
The recent reaction of America and its Western allies is that of a drug addict.
Drug-addicted parents abuse and neglect their children and the families become aggressive and irrational. The children are greatly disadvantaged and are in danger of following in their parent's footsteps. Addicts shamelessly lie and are in constant denial, like a child with a chocolate-covered mouth denying having eaten the chocolate. They manipulate, perform criminal activities, and shift the blame to others. This clear behaviour of drug addicts is reflected in the behaviour of all the facets of America - from the politicians, the banks, the corporations, scientists, academics, media, entertainment and all the leaders and influencers that people follow.
There are times when drug addicts go thru phases of self-flagellation. They drown themselves in shame, guilt, and acceptance that they can not make it on their own. They turn to tribalism and like in a cult find solace in belonging to a group that agrees to have one voice. They become proud social justice warriors and virtue signal their beliefs in placing diversity, inclusion, and equality over merit. They chose security over freedom and the greater common good over their own individual concerns. They trust the centralized authority that protects and leads them. They find it virtuous to convince others to go along with the herd. Many are so critically wounded and feel so hopeless that they commit suicide by overdosing. The same behaviour is seen in American and Western societies which are addicted to consumer products and to legal and illegal drugs. The rest of the world, too poor to be consumers is ready and willing to deliver.
The world is divided between consumers and suppliers. The consumers, led by America. have fallen into an addiction that the rest of the world have supplied, much like poor drug dealer supplying their wealthy clients. As the checks from the addicted clients keep bouncing, the dealers are cutting off their supplies.
When America rehabilitates and regains its spirit of freedom, it will also regain the admiration of the world that it once possessed.
